Halloween Party

Too old for Trick-or-Treating does not mean too old for Halloween parties!  Every Thursday night our life group, consisting of 5 other couples from our church, meets for dinner, a devotional, and the opportunity to share life together. This year, Halloween fell on a Thursday so we decided to be festive!
I was really excited to have the opportunity to host the party.  I love having parties and I feel like, since we moved to South Carolina, we haven't done it as often as I would like.

Simon helped so much with the party preparations! It had been a super busy week for me and I would never have been able to get it all together without his help cleaning the house and preparing the food.

I've been accumulating fun party-food ideas for awhile, so I went a little crazy with the munchies, but it was fun. :)

Here are a few food pictures.   We watch the show The Big Bang Theory, and for their halloween party they named their food really lame but funny halloween names, so we did it as a sort of joke.  Not all of them are halloween-themed, but you may notice some of the names.
This was the drink table.
The little buckets in the middle are the pumpkin carving buckets for each team.  The white bucket is full of ice and sodas.

Food table with the wrinkly table cloth.  (How do you get wrinkles out of plastic? Not by simply ironing it obviously)
 Mini wonton tacos
Simon gets the credit for hollowing out the pumpkin!

 These things went like hot-cakes!

I made a crockpot full of Pumpkin spice latte, which always seems to be a fall hit.  Here is the link to where I blogged that recipe:

We munched and mingled and admired one anothers costumes for awhile before gearing up for a heated game of Halloween Bingo- which quickly turned into Hallowingo!  First person to 3 wins. It got intense. Haha.

Minglers

I deemed this a BYOPumpkin party that ended with a pumpkin carving contest.  We carved as couples and everyone got into it, which made it fun.  Every team had a pumpkin carving bucket with tools and gloves, etc to make it all fair. Team Reinhardt had some carving issues, and our jack-o-lantern was not spectacular, but they all turned out cute.

Finished pumpkins-  The cat won the contest.
After more munching and mingling -and of course some group pictures- we all called it a night.

Happy Halloween!
